A day at the movies

Night of the living dead

When I watched this movie, I noticed it was an older movie. The music in the beginning was very suspenseful. The car driving on a long empty road through the cemetery definitely gave me the impression it will be a horror movie. It was two siblings headed to visit their dads grave to place a decoration on it. I was curious to know why would he mention that no one was around. It was obvious that someone was going to appear. A man appears and the brother tells her run and she decided to walk towards the man and he attacked her. Her brother then cam e to rescue her and he ends up getting attacked by the zombie. She then came upon a house and the gentle man was asking her for a key to the truck than realized that was not her house. A zombie came in the house. The man fought the zombie off and instructed her that she would need to help board up the house. The movie was based on zombies.  This movie played a lot of suspenseful music to create the fear or image of being scary. The movie was interesting to watch because I have seen many movies that have had this type of theme. I didn’t realize that many of the movies and shows I have seen could have originated from these times.

The General

This was an interesting pick that I chose. It was such an interesting movie because it stated off in a train and I love trains. It didn’t have much words but a lot of music and people coming off the train in the beginning. It also showed a lot of emotions and just displayed how they were but no one actually spoke to one another. They displayed words when they were communicating and then showed them act out in expressions and body language. The General is based in the times of the American Civil war broke out. He had a fiance that he went to go see and brought home two boys with him she gestured to basically send them out. He than had to go back to work on the train but be a part of the war is what I gathered. The part of the movie that sticks out to me the most is when he couldn’t be affectionate with his fiance and instead reached out his hand to embrace her. I believe that was a very emotionally felt part of the movie and showed that although he had to salute troops he still made an effort to reach for her and embrace her the best way possible that he could.
